I am from Trinidad in the West Indies so I am a 'Trini'. The second I open my mouth you will hear my accent. At the age of 12 we moved to Florida for a year and then to the UK where I spent my formative years. I went to boarding school, did a diploma in business, worked briefly in London as an accountant and then did an engineering degree in Yacht Design after which I returned to Trinidad.

I worked as a naval architect and marine surveyor on barges, oil rigs and commercial vessels. A year later I opened  AMD with Bastien Pouthier. We were a firm of naval architects, marine surveyors and project managers. We worked mostly on yachts and did surveys for insurance, purchase and damage. We also did refits, management, deliveries, chartering and just about anything yacht related. Bastien is still heavily involved in the Caribbean yachting scene.

In 2006 I branched out on my own and started running FRETWORKSTT.COM  I worked mostly with architects, interior designers, event planners as well as brand managers and rebranding consultants to create most of what you see on this site. In 2017 I sold Fretworks to Marcus Skinner and moved to Quebec City with my wife and family. Marcus and I are in frequent contact discussing jobs and manufacturing strategies. I am happy to say that today Fretworks is making some of its best creations with Marcus at the helm.

Between the years of 2000 and 2017 I also did a number of personal projects. My dad and I built two commercial buildings and one residential home. The most significant though was building and racing my Super Seven race car. I had never really built anything myself before the Super Seven. I built it from scratch. Bought a book and went from there. It gave me the base knowledge on how to make anything. Welding, cutting, bending, riveting, sanding, fabrication, grinding, painting, electrical and mechanical. That was the spark for my passion for building and it has taken me to where I am today.

With an estimated 20 jobs per month for 10 years I can safely estimated that I have made well over 2400 different jobs. If I think of individual items it will be in the 10,000's. I am presently making my second racing car. Eventually I would like to build a boat and a plane one day but for now I am looking forward to doing some interesting jobs in Quebec City.
